How will I receive my design project once it is done?
Upon
approval of the final logo or design project you will have
the option of receiving your images via e-mail attachment,
disk, and/or hard copy. We can also send you the project in
the software file format of your choice, or as a PDF file
that can be opened up on basically any computer. Our logo packages
deliver the final design in four formats: 1 optimized web
file (.GIF/.JPG), 1 EPS file for printing, 1 CDR/AI file for
vector drawing programs and 1 TIFF file for use in
documents.
Do you
provide the printing services too, or just the graphic
designing?
Absolutely! We can
offer you full-service printing if you are a locally owned
business (Chicago south suburbs / NW Indiana). Since we
don't offer shipping, generally all files included in the project
for non-local clients are delivered
by e-mail, internet or removable media, such as a DVD/CD-ROM, to either the client, or if requested, to
the commercial printer of your choice.
What is the
difference between a print logo and a web logo?
Print
logos require a much higher resolution (i.e., pixels per
inch) to create and need to be saved in certain standard
print file formats. Some of the most common and universal
print formats for print jobs are TIFF, JPG, BMP, EPS, and
Adobe Acrobat PDF. Because print logos can become very large
in file size they are usually delivered on a form of
removable media, such as a DVD/CD-ROM.
Web logos, on
the other hand, require a much smaller resolution (since
they only need to be displayed on screen), and can be sent
directly through email or available for immediate download.
They are always formatted in either JPG or GIF. Because web
logos are so small in file size, they are not a good choice
for printing, as the quality will appear very blurred or
jagged on paper.

How much does it cost to design a website?
That's kind of like asking a builder "how much would it cost
to build a house?" Without specifics like square footage,
number of bedrooms and so on, it is impossible to quote. Our
projects are normally quoted on a case-by-case basis so that
we can accommodate a variety of clients and budgets. How
much a site costs is determined by a number of factors:
number of pages, graphics, programming, online marketing,
etc. We've simplified this somewhat with our all inclusive
packages (take a look at our
clients page), but if your
needs are more -- or less, we'll be happy to create a
package just for you and quote you a flat fee. Websites can
generally can be achieved starting around $800 on up. But we
have created some attractive single page sites from around
$300 (hosting and domain not included). Rehabbing an existing website can also save you around
30%. Please
contact us for a personalized quote!

 |
Can I view my website while it is being built?
Absolutely! Once we start your project, you will be given a
login and password, which will enable you to access our
project site. There you will be able to see the status of
your project, leave messages & see design concepts.
If I have you design my site, do I have to host it with you?
No. While
we will gladly discuss our hosting service with you, you are
under no obligation. Design and hosting are two entirely
separate aspects of our business.

Why should I pay for hosting when there
are all those free sites?
Nothing wrong with the Freebies, and if you're only putting
up a non-commercial "personal" site, you're probably better
off. However, if you intend to market your site through the
search engines, be aware that many of them won't list it if
it is hosted on the freebies; this includes Geocities and
AOL, and many others. Too much spam comes from those domains
and they host too many unreliable sites. If you are serious
about your business, then your own domain becomes a must.
People feel more comfortable dealing with a site at "www.mycompany.com"
than they do at "www.members.isp.com/~yourname/
yoursite.htm". Besides, it's easier to remember!
Especially for small businesses, appearance is extremely
important, and your own URL adds to that professional image.

What is a 'domain name'?
A domain name is
the address where your website will reside. It's what
you'll tell everyone when they ask you if you have a
website; it's what you print on all your business cards,
letterheads and advertisements. With this in mind you want
to make sure your domain name is easy to remember, and is
close to your business name. Even if you don't want to setup
a website just yet, it is a good idea to register your
domain name now, before someone else has the opportunity to
take the name you've chosen for your business. You can
register a domain name with us at the time of your web
hosting order -- no additional forms to fill out. Or we can
reserve just the domain name, if you prefer. Check out our
hosting and registration page.
